My name is Sean Harris and I counsel my patients using a multi-model approach to effective therapy. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2013) and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2018). My training is up to date and my approach is modern and humanistic. I use combinations of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Modification Techniques, and an Existential/ Rogerian perspective for therapeutic interventions in psychotherapy. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults, who present depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar, phobias, and grief.
I work at Atembis to help strengthen healthy self-understanding, to develop productive interpersonal skills and perceptions, and to enhance the peace, safety, and happiness for all patients. I come from a family with a history of service, I am 3rd generation military serving active duty in the United States Navy earning multiple citations for multinational contingency missions and guaranteeing successful combat unit assessment and certifications. I am also a 2nd generation provider for emotional and mental health concerns. Prior to Atembis I worked as a Direct Support Professional for teens diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Alcohol Fetal Syndrome in the state of Oklahoma.
I believe that all people are unique and have very specific stories and experiences. We all encounter trying times in our fast-paced and complicated lives. Sometimes these difficulties are internal barriers to our personal peace and happiness. Other times we have presenting concerns that seemingly come from the world around us and we do not know how to process them. We are never alone in our struggles and seeking assistance during our distress is brave and can be rewarding. I feel very fortunate to be the newest addition to the Atembis team and look forward to serving those who seek improved health and wellness.
